I’ve been a pretty lucky guy. It all has to do with the Philippines. That is where my luck came from.
The users of this website are obviously mostly involved in some type of relationship with somebody in the Philippines. The vast majority of users of WowPhilippines are people (mostly men) who have a significant other in the Philippines. Maybe it is a girlfriend, a wife or somebody else who is special to them.
That is also where my story starts, and I want to share it with you. I want to teach you about relationships in the Philippines. I want to tell you some things that you need to know in order to have the best possible relationship with a Filipino. I hope this will be helpful to some of you!
It all started in 1990
In 1990 I was 28 years old. I was single, had never been married and really did not have any prospects for a girlfriend let alone a wife. I was at the age, though, where I wanted to start a family. Yes, I wanted a family, but I really had no prospects for starting one.
Somebody told me around that time about a girl in the Philippines and suggested that I might want to write letters to her, we would be penpals. It was not something I had done before, but it sounded like it might be interesting. We wrote letters back and forth for about 6 months and I decided to come and visit her.
Making a long story short, that girl became my wife. My wife’s name is Feyma, and most of the things I write about in this series of articles will be about her and our relationship. We have now been married for nearly 27 years, and still going strong. I try to do things for her, she does things for me. It is a 2 way street, and it works.
Along the way, though, I had so much to learn. I had no idea at that time how much I would need to learn to have a successful relationship with a Filipina. She was from a different country, a different culture, a completely different way of life when compared to me. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal, though… boy was I wrong!
It has been a good journey, and I would not trade it for anything. In the coming weeks and months, I will be writing one article per week here about the relationship, things that I learned, and things that I think you need to learn if you want to have a successful relationship with somebody from the Philippines.
